First Online Retreat a Success

Having had to postpone our Women’s Active Retreat at the gorgeous Cotna Eco Retreat in Gorran, Cornwall, we decided to have a go at trying to recreate the vibe of a retreat online. 

We managed to bring together a wide range of activities and experiences for you enjoy from the comfort of your own homes and gardens.   It all kicked off with a coastal walk from Mevagissey, Cornwall at sunset.  Kathy shared a Facebook Live and outlined what we would be getting up to.

Saturday began with a Bake Off challenge with a gorgeous recipe for White Chocolate and Raspberry Cake from Adele at Moor to Sea Catering Company (as they usually provide our yummy food for us on our retreats).  Cami at SUP and Soul Retreats invited us to try Balance Boarding, which was a challenge especially as we had to have a go at creating something to balance on first.  We managed to rummage a log and an old scaffold plank and had great fun trying to copy Cami who made it look so easy!

Kathy from Wild Women’s Active Retreats hosted a live chill-out session around the fire in her garden, before getting up at dawn on Sunday to join in with the Wildlife Trust’s Dawn Chorus Day.  Sarah from Dharmamammas continued our entertainment by hosting a live Nurturing Yoga session for us which was spot on!  Great to reconnect with the body and soul, and some of us even managed to take our practice outdoors.

Breakfast was provided by Izabela at The Old Parsonage in Mevagissey.  She shared her special recipe for ‘Herby Mushrooms with Bacon and Poached Egg’ and we had a go at recreating it for ourselves at home.  The retreat came to a close with an invitation to go on a themed Nature Walk.  The colour was ‘blue’ and guests were encouraged to do a bit of barefoot walking if possible during their walk.
