We are 3 sessions into a Summer Wild Adventure Programme with a group of young women from the YEW Project.  We have been learning new skills and looking at our ‘Momentary Happiness‘ as we enjoy different outdoor activities in different blue and green spaces.

So far we have practised yoga in the woods in the rain, cycled the Pentewen Trail nr St Austell and had a go a Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) with sponsors’ McConks SUPs from the PaddleShed in Portmellon Cove.

We have worked with some awesome instructors; Sophie Wire aka Fit Pixie Yoga, and Emma Roberts at It’s all about the Bike.  Kathy King of WW&W has also delivered sessions and provided the camp cooking opportunities.

Still to come is a Bodmin Moor adventure to Cheesewrings where we will be cooking our own version of a pot noodle (the ‘not’ noodle!!), and our final session will Bushcraft with Denise of Nature Nurturers and should give us plenty of time to relax and reflect around the camp fire.

It has been great fun so far and was made possible by funding from Active Cornwall.

Keep and eye out on our Facebook and Instagram feeds for information about future projects and how you can get involved.
