Wild Wonder & Wisdom’s founder, Kathy King, was recently featured on a podcast hosted by Pat Kelman @ The Joy of Swimming, joined by Cornwall OWL’s Sharky Sian, to talk about open water swimming and the benefits it brings.

We had previously worked with Sharky Sian for our Online Winter Wellness Weekend festival, where she shared a sea swimming video for us all to enjoy and feel like we were apart of.

Kathy told Pat all about our Women’s Wild Camp Training Programme, which involves getting out on the water for various activities (including sea swimming) with the aim of improving the mental health and confidence of disadvantaged young women. Similarly, our upcoming This Girl Can Programme will support 11-18 year old girls with activities to help with anxiety and depression.

Kathy started sea swimming almost 3 years ago and caught ‘the bug’, taking part in a number of Mad Hatter events involving water sports. She has experienced many benefits of open water swimming and sees it as a ‘reset button’ and a connection to nature.
