For the first in a series of blogs spotlighting the awesome women who will be taking part in our Wild and Wonderful Periods event on March 25th, we are pleased to introduce you to the wonderful Nancy Cowling. Nancy will be helping attendees find serenity in her Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) workshops at our event. Guiding us on a calming journey through the woods, she will help us tap into our breath and take things back to basics.
What to expect on the day...
In her own words, Nancy shares the essence of her work:
“An invitation to wander into the woods, slow down and reconnect to ourselves within nature; Forest Bathing is a gentle practice of remembering and being, of coming into your senses and the present moment. The Japanese practice of Forest Bathing has shown to impact positively on emotional and physical health through the reciprocal relationship we have with nature.
My name is Nancy, therapist, teacher and curious wanderer. Join me on a slow, mindful walk into nature; no experience or skills needed, your body’s natural powers are all that is needed.”
Nancy’s bright smile is a great reflection of her work as Specialist Support Worker and Training Coordinator at Women’s Centre Cornwall. We feel blessed to have worked with Nancy in the past and feel privileged that she is joining us to celebrate menstrual health at our event. She has supported our work at Wild, Wonder and Wisdom in her capacity as therapist when she led the Young Empowered Women Project (YEW). Together, we delivered outdoor yoga and Bushcraft workshops. She also delivered a Shinrin yoku invitation/ experience for our online Winter Well-being Festival back in lockdown.
Find your calm. Join Nancy and other inspirational women at our Wild and Wonderful Periods event on 25th March at the Mevagissey Activity Centre.
