Wild Wonder and Wisdom is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) that seeks to empower young people through outdoor education. We focus on boosting Emotional Literacy (self-confidence, self-belief, social skills, self-regulation and empathy) and on monitoring ‘Momentary Happiness’ where we tune into the ways in which physical activities in green and blue spaces alter our mood. We capture how ‘excited’, ‘happy’, ‘content’ and ‘relaxed’ we are feeling before, during and after our sessions. This mindful acknowledgment of how our moods change will start to condition participants to learn which natural spaces and physical activities improve their mood most.Â
Kathy King, the founder of WW&W is an experienced teacher of 18 years and qualified outdoor education facilitator running Forest School sessions since 2007. She has also qualified as an outdoor instructor meaning that WW&W is able to offer indoor wall climbing, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, trail running, sea swimming, snorkelling and SUP as part of our outdoor education provision. We also collaborate with lots of local, like-minded sole traders and social enterprises to bring you a varied menu of activities and sports.
