As part of our series of blogs spotlighting the women taking part in our Wild and Wonderful Periods event on 25th March, we would like to introduce you to Friedel Fink of Big Sis CIC. Attendees will be able to get to the nitty gritty in an anonymous/ drop in Q & A hosted by Friedel. This will be a judgement free, safe and open space to ask all of those uncomfortable but essential questions surrounding menstruation.

What to expect on the day...
Friedel will be answering and exploring the questions we all wished we could have asked when we were young in an anonymous/ drop in Q & A session at our event.
Friedel Fink is a Girl Empowerment Facilitator and Relationship and Sex Educator working in Devon and Cornwall. She founded Big Sis CIC in 2020, a community interest company giving girls the tools and support to have great relationships with themselves and others.
Big Sis trains mentors to deliver a 12 week Girl Mentoring Programme in schools and community venues and deliver PSHE and RSE workshops in schools. Some topics they address are menstrual cycle education, body image, challenging gender stereotypes, boundaries and consent and more.
When I was a girl, I would have loved nothing more than to have a kind ear and some top advice on menstruation. Today, young girls have the internet, a help and a hindrance all at once. On the one hand, they are being sold the image of empowered girls and female role models. On the other hand, their is a whole heap of confusing and misleading content that can mystify things even more.
This event, and this Q & A session in particular, will provide the attendees with just that opportunity. And for the grown-ups struggling to engage their young people, this is also for you.
