'This Girl Can' and 'This Woman Can' are back with wonderment this Autumn/Winter. We have a series of exciting outdoor sessions celebrating all things Autumn and then moving into our Winter programme which will involve activities such as netball, trampolining and yoga. Our mixed Outdoor Adventurers are also waiting patiently to start an indoor climbing programme with Porthpean OEC
This Girl Can is aimed at 9-16 year old girls in the St Austell area. We have space to take some referrals from social prescribing thanks to funding from Active Cornwall.
1st and 15th November
Walk into the woods with torches, set up camp. Cook and carry out activities linked to light (making some different lanterns; hammocks to watch stars; fire lighting; if possible, the slackline and some LED Poi; games linked to night activities, shelter building)
8th November
Headtorch walk to Pentewan Beach for some night time rock pool and food with activities on the way.
Based at The House YPC in St Austell and going to Polkyth for weekly activities;
22nd November Badminton
29th November Trampolining
6th December Yoga
13th December Netball
20th December Christmas Party (to be booked separately)
We will return to The House after our activities to cook and eat a healthy snack together. There will also be opportunities for some art and crafts and we will focus in on our bodies and changes, periods etc.
‘This Woman Can’ Winter Wellness Launch
Come and join us at this planning event for our ‘This Woman Can’ group. We are preparing for a Winter of wellness activities and we would love to hear what you would like us to put on for you. What would you like to try?
Along with the usual sea swims and walks, we want to offer sports such as rounders, netball and even bowls?? What about trips out to other venues so we can try boxing or ariel yoga?
We are also looking to form a committee that will meet informally every couple of months to help this club to become more sustainable and more representative of the awesome women in it 🙂

Mixed Outdoor Adventurers- Winter Climbing Course
We are still waiting for an official start date for our Winter Climbing Course at Porthpean OEC. As soon as we know we will let you all know.
