We are excited to be starting a fundraising campaign for a whole season of water sports fun at The Paddleshed in Portmellon. After previous success with crowdfunding, we are planning another go this time looking to secure match funding from Sport England's Movement Fund.
We need your help 🙂
We hope to raise a massive £5000 so we can do the following starting after Easter 2025;
- to provide a structured programme from The Paddleshed that will help individuals from different groups to come together for group coaching to introduce beginners to kayaking, paddleboarding, sea swimming and snorkelling. Each morning will be dedicated to a different group so everyone can have their needs met.
- run a regular locals’ paddle evening and a separate locals snorkel session to bring the community together and celebrate the wonders that we have in Portmellon.
- host pop-up events on the beach like one of our silent disco events, beach cleans, guided walks, yoga, rock pooling events etc.
- run small after-school clubs and holiday clubs for local young people so they can learn new skills and gain water awareness so they know how to keep themselves and others safe.
- collaborate with other local activity providers, venues and social enterprises to reach as many local people as possible and to provide a varied programme of opportunities for everyone to try.
We have produced this letter so that anyone who wishes to help us understands what we are looking for and what we are trying to achieve. Please take a look below and get in touch if you have any ideas. We are looking for:
- tempting rewards that we can offer on our crowdfunding page
- objects or experiences that can be added as prizes for a massive online raffle.
